The living and dining had to work as one room without either of them feeling like a corridor. We took out the partition, kept the original red-oxide floor, and built the storage into the wall the two rooms share.

A clinic where the waiting area is the first thing anybody nervous sees. Sage panelling to shoulder height, a bench instead of a row of chairs, and the reception desk turned ninety degrees so nobody is spoken to across a counter.

About

I design interiors in Bangalore, mostly apartments and small clinics and offices. I have been doing it for nine years, the last four on my own. Most of my work comes from people whose friend's flat I did, which means I take on fewer projects than I could and finish them faster than most studios.

I use AI tools for the middle part of the work. After the first site visit I can put eight or ten versions of a room in front of a client the same week, instead of two of them a fortnight later, and we throw out the wrong ones quickly. It does not design anything. It removes the waiting, and the waiting was where projects used to lose their first month.
